Dear Dr. Bob Crisafi,
As a Crisafi Scholar, I would like to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation for your generosity and support of the pharmacy students at the University of Florida.
I grew up in a small town in Northern Kentucky. Throughout some of middle school and all of high school, I was a Special Olympics Cheerleading coach to many athletes with a variety of disabilities. The disabilities varied from athlete to athlete, therefore the medication regimen varied as well. It was very fascinating to see how each unique medication regimen worked with each athlete. This is what initially sparked my interest in pursuing a career in the field of pharmacy.
I moved away from home and got a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology at Florida State University in August 2016. Throughout the summer leading up to graduation and throughout this past year, I have worked as a Pharmacy Technician at Publix. I have learned an incredible amount about the field and it has only made my love for pharmacy grow deeper. I hope to get experience in a few different fields of pharmacy during the next four years, such as hospital work as well as research. I would love to specialize in pediatrics.
I am so honored to receive this scholarship. I am also very thankful because it will help me tremendously with my pharmacy school expenses. It is helping to bring me one step closer to achieving my dream of becoming a pharmacist.
