“Although the Crisafi Challenge is by far the most ambitious scholarship program that I’m associated with, Barbara and I have always understood the importance of scholarships and the role they play in helping needy students achieve their goal to becoming pharmacists. Other scholarships we sponsor are at my undergraduate college, Northeastern University College of Pharmacy as well as scholarships in memory of my Mom and Dad at my Dad’s alma mater, the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS). These scholarships have been in place for many years, and we have seen the value they offered students who would not have been able to earn a pharmacy degree because they lacked the financial resources necessary to cover their pharmacy education.
Having the opportunity to establish the Crisafi Challenge scholarship program at the UFCOP and witnessing its overwhelming success has been extremely rewarding for me and my entire family. It’s so satisfying to be working directly with energetic personnel in the COP’s Development Department and having the full approval of the college’s administrative staff. They have been cooperative in receiving and implementing unique concepts that have proven to work so well for the Crisafi Challenge.
Without the wonderful support of the COP’s dedicated graduates and loyal gators, there would not be an annual Crisafi Challenge appeal. Instead, because of the excellent response from our alums, I have elected to fund the Crisafi Challenge in perpetuity. That means there will be an everlasting availability of scholarships for those excellent students who have their hearts set on becoming gator pharmacists.”
